Here’s number two of this Worthy Designers series I started with Dan Matutina a few weeks back. This time I summon Alex Griendling.
I found out about this guy while editing the Raygun 52 post published on march of this same year. After following the link to his website I knew I had to add him in this collection at one point. Even though some may not find his work extremely impressing, or perhaps too minimalistic, I beg to differ. I just love the cleanliness and pixel perfect execution his finished projects deliver, After all, it’s not for nothing that he got a job working at Google.
Here is a quote from the designer himself :
“Hello! My name is Alex Griendling, and I am a designer/illustrator working for Google in California. There is a 63% chance I’m looking at something Star Wars related as you read this.
Recently, I’ve been heavily involved in a redesign effort that is impacting Google’s largest and smallest products. Our team, the Google Art Department, is focused on improving Google’s visual standards and the cohesiveness of its brand. Outside of Google, I like to develop new personal projects, update my blog, read comics, obsessively watch Back to the Future, and meet new people.”
